Kia Ora THE

I'm hitting the road again this month for our July 2018 roadshows. These kick off in Wellington on Wednesday, followed by Christchurch, Invercargill and Northland later in the month.

As we prepare for continued international visitor growth over the next five years, it's important that the wider tourism industry connects more closely to support the visitor and community experience of tourism.

How can we make our visitors feel more welcome – feel like whānau – and have them planning their next visit to New Zealand before they've even left?

How can we help ensure New Zealanders continue to be supportive of tourism in New Zealand, and see evidence of the visitor economy enriching their lives?

These are questions we are reflecting on, and will be discussing at the upcoming roadshows.

At the roadshows, we'll be joined by the Provincial Development Unit who will talk about the opportunities that lie within the $1 billion Provincial Growth Fund, and MYOB NZ to discuss the transition of tourism into a technology industry.

If you haven't already, you can register for these events by visiting www.tourismnewzealand.com. I'd also encourage your contacts outside of the industry with an interest in supporting or benefitting from the growth of international tourism in New Zealand to come along.

I look forward to talking with many of you soon.

Ngā mihi,

Stephen England-Hall

Chief Executive, Tourism New Zealand
