This week has been filled with plenty of airline news, between earnings reports and the Farnborough International Airshow in England — is Aston Martin really making a sports car for the skies?
But one story you will only read here is Aviation Business Editor Brian Sumers' tale of persistence on Mesa Air Group, a regional airline many of you have probably never heard of. After filing for bankruptcy eight years ago and re-emerging as a private company, Mesa is looking to go public yet again, all under the same CEO who presided over the downfall. It's a great read on the economics of regional airlines and the rarity of IPOs for the entire airline business — a welcome break from a week of big jet orders and boasts about passenger revenue per available seat mile.
