Kia Ora THE

Tourism New Zealand's team enjoys meeting with stakeholders to listen, gather feedback on the sector, and understand the challenges of growth. Our on-going connection and collaboration with stakeholders is crucial to our ability to achieve our goals and add value to the sector, particularly as we increase our work to support New Zealand's readiness for further visitor growth.

In this week's Tourism News we highlight the latest Australian market road trips campaign – a collaborative in-market campaign involving nine regional tourism organisations and three tourism operators. It is an excellent example of how the industry can work together to target a particular market, draw visitors to different regions, and frame the destination experience. This is the eighth year that our Australian team has collaborated with RTOs and it is an approach that clearly benefits all parties.

Next month we will hit the road for our TNZ roadshows – this time hosted in Northland, Wellington, Christchurch, and Invercargill. These roadshows provide a vital opportunity for Tourism New Zealand to meet with stakeholders and share insights and updates. This year we have extended the roadshow invite to educate a wider audience about the huge opportunities the tourism economy offers. I'll have guest speakers joining me on the road: RTO representatives to talk to the regional landscape, MYOB NZ to talk to the increasing importance of technology for tourism businesses, and the new Provincial Development Unit to talk about the Provincial Growth Fund and how these funds can be accessed. We will also hold industry workshops on social content strategy and brand storytelling.

We look forward to seeing you there.

Ngā mihi,

Stephen England-Hall

Chief Executive, Tourism New Zealand
