We'd like to update you about the minor eruption of Mount Agung Volcano in East Bali that took place this evening at 17:05. Ash clouds were seen drifting around 500 metres above the peak and are currently moving southeast.
Because it is only a minor eruption, authorities have not changed the alert level which was lowered from Level IV to Level III towards the end of October. Accordingly, authorities have not made any amendments to the evacuation zone of 6-7.5 km around the crater. Furthermore, Ngurah Rai International Airport in Denpasar (DPS) remains open, and all major tourist areas have been unaffected.
For these reasons, along with the assurance that all of our travellers are safely outside the evacuation zone, we are continuing operations as normal. We will continue to monitor the situation carefully and provide you with timely updates should anything change.
Kind regards,
