We'd like to update you that East Bali's Mount Agung Volcano is continuing to erupt. This Sunday morning, 26 November, at 05:05 local time, eruptions with dark ash clouds have started to occur and are currently rising to a height of 4,000 metres.
For now, the ash is moving eastwards and is south of the neighbouring island of Lombok. While ash is raining down in some parts of East Bali, there is no ash is falling other parts of Bali or in Lombok at this time.
As a result of these developments, all travellers in East Bali have been moved to other parts of the island in order to prevent any impact on their trips. Throughout other parts of Bali, including the south where most travellers stay, business is continuing as usual, as the eruption is neither visible or able to be felt. All of our in-house guests are safe and will not be visiting the affected areas of East Bai.
The status of Mount Agung is still Level III, with an evacuation radius of 6 - 7.5 km from the crater and no changes to the situation. However, due to ash, the aviation code has changed from "orange" to "red", with changes to flight schedules including cancellations occurring at both at Denpasar's Ngurah Rai International Airport (DPS) as well as Lombok International Airport (LOP).
We are monitoring the situation at the airports closely and have deployed customer service staff at Ngurah Rai International Airport to assist arriving and departing guests affected by changes to their flight schedules. As we expect there to be some flight disruptions over the coming days, we will keep affected partner agents informed directly about each and every file on the ground, as well as those who are soon to arrive.
As we would like to reserve our 24-hour customer care number for clients on the ground only, we kindly ask that you contact your usual contact for questions or concerns regarding specific files.
Kind regards,
