I'm the politics editor of The Times, and I’m writing from the frenzied hub of our coverage, the New York newsroom, where I’ve pretty much been living in recent weeks.
It’s hard to believe Election Day is upon us, after what feels like a nine-month series of sprints in which we’ve seen an unprecedented number of female candidates, an unprecedented amount of campaign cash, an unprecedented throng of new people sign up to vote and what sure seems like an unprecedented amount of vitriol and falsehoods on the campaign trail.
We’ve got more than two dozen journalists in New York, Washington and on the ground across the country who will be providing expert reporting, instant analysis and live results as the votes are cast and counted.
