BUSINESS EVENTS AUSTRALIA 17/18 SNAPSHOT

Last financial year was a big one for Business Events Australia with the launch of the Business Events Bid Fund Program and a successful Dreamtime in Brisbane being key highlights. The team also delivered distribution development activity including hosting hundreds of business events planners and decision makers in Australia on educational programs, delivering trade shows and events in key markets and marketing communications work including brand experiences, targeted media buys, content creation and a robust increase in earned media.

Greater China Showcase

Greater China Showcase 2018

Applications are now open for the Business Events Australia Greater China Showcase, to be held in Melbourne, Australia for the first time from 25 to 28 November 2018. The two day program provides Australian industry with the opportunity to strengthen relationships with key Chinese incentive agents, corporate buyers and media. Find out more and apply here.

Chinese planners discover Perth

Eight incentive planners from China experienced first-hand why there’s nothing like Australia for business events on their recent educational trip to Perth. In partnership with Perth Convention Bureau and Singapore Airlines, BEA hosted a four-day program that showcased the region’s incentive offerings. The experiences were also captured to be used across BEA channels and media buys in China.

 
 
 
 

USA media coverage for Australia

Off the back of media hosting at the Ultimate Winery Experiences of Australia (UWEA) showcase event in New York in April, Business Events Australia secured the front page of US magazine, Prevue as well as a full page story on the event and Australia's food offering for business events. The article was one of more than 300 media articles secured for Australia by BEA in FY1718. Read the story here.

Business Events Bid Fund update

Tourism Australia’s Business Events Bid Fund Program has over 50 applications in progress with a combined economic impact of the events valued at over AUD 317 million. The BFP offers financial support at the critical international bidding stage to help secure new international business events to Australia.
