"In short, despite the severe challenges of 2017, more visitors arrived in the Caribbean, and they spent more," the CTO's Hugh Riley said. "But is that enough? Is our work now over?"
The region drew 30.1 million visitors, a 1.7% increase, and had Irma and Maria not wiped out the fourth quarter for many destinations, it would have drawn 31 million, estimated the Caribbean Tourism Organization.
