The Kahala Hotel & Resort's Holokino (KahalaResort.com/experiences/ sailing-tour) adventure shares traditional Polynesian navigation techniques practiced for centuries throughout the Pacific. Refreshed by trade winds, voyagers learn basic way-finding practices while ogling the ahupua'a (land divisions) of Oahu's south shore from the ocean.

ANTE UP ON THE ART
The Handcrafters and Artisans Alliancesponsored Artfest (ICB-Web.net/haa ), adds a colorful tone to Kapiolani Park from March 31 to April 1. Some 60 fine artists and "Made in Hawaii" handicraft artisans flaunt their wares as Diamond Head paints the backdrop.
CULINARY:
A CANVAS OF CUISINE
On the opposite side of Diamond Head, The Culinary Institute of the Pacific's three-hour Spring Culinary Classes (ContinuingEd.kapiolani.hawaii.edu/culinary) turn up the heat via tasteful chef-led instruction. Savory sessions include Cooking Local Andagi, One Pot Meals and Cooking Local Corn.
