| | | | | | TOURISM AUSTRALIA UPDATE | The official launch of our new global campaign, Come and Say G’day, is only a week away with the release planned for 19 October. I am excited to say though, that yesterday in Tokyo, our Minister for Trade and Tourism, Senator the Hon. Don Farrell unveiled Tourism Australia’s new Brand Ambassador, Ruby, a souvenir kangaroo voiced by Australian actress, Rose Byrne. The new global campaign will be inviting the world to Come and Say G’day and is the next instalment of Tourism Australia’s There’s Nothing Like Australia global brand platform. In Adelaide/Tarntanya last week, Minister Farrell jointly hosted the Tourism Ministers' Meeting with South Australian Minister for Tourism and Multicultural Affairs Zoe Bettison. The meeting brought together tourism ministers from all State and Territories and affirmed their commitment to returning the visitor economy to pre-COVID expenditure levels of $166 billion by 2024. As parts of Australia have been affected again by heavy rainfall and flooding, my thoughts are with the residents and businesses who are being impacted, along with the emergency services personnel and volunteers, who have stepped up once again to help with recovery. Ruby will be the face of Tourism Australia’s new global tourism campaign inviting the world to Come and Say G’day which will be launched next Wednesday, 19 October 2022. Ruby is being voiced by Australian actress, Rose Byrne. The campaign will also be localised in non-English markets, with Japanese actress Maryjun Takahashi to be the voice of Ruby in Japan.
