| | | | | TOURISM AUSTRALIA UPDATE | This week started with lots of positive developments in the reopening of international travel to Australia. Sunday marked the start of quarantine-free travel for fully vaccinated citizens from Singapore to Australia, and I am really pleased to have had the opportunity to spend a few days in Singapore earlier this week meeting with trade as we roll out our new campaign - Yours to Explore. The Prime Minister delivered further good news with the announcement of quarantine-free travel for fully vaccinated citizens from Japan and South Korea, commencing from 1 December. While this arrangement with Japan and South Korea is initially one-way, covering quarantine-free travel to Australia, we look forward to two-way travel reopening with these two really important markets for Australian tourism in time. And in perhaps the biggest step forward this week was the announcement of the return of eligible working holiday makers, who are fully vaccinated, from 1 December as well. Working holiday makers are a critical part of our visitor economy, tending to stay longer and spending more in the process as they combine work and travel during their time in Australia. The arrangements will apply to eligible visa holders of the Working Holiday Maker (Subclass 417) and Work and Holiday Visa (Subclass 462). Our next industry webinar will be held at 11am AEDT on Friday 10 December and you can register here.
