Timothee Chalamet and Kylie Jenner might be dating and, um, that's something!
The best of the internet, right here, right now
FRIDAY, APRIL 7 2023
Happy Friday! Our main story today is enough to make anyone ready to log off for the weekend, but I encourage you to push through and check out eeeeeverything you might have missed online lately. Sure, Timmy and Kylie might be dating, but there are some *good* things out there, too. Enjoy! ✨
The internet loves good celeb gossip — that's why anonymous account Deux Moi has become so popular for their (often reliable) breaking news. But their latest rumor has people second guessing everything, because it says Kylie Jenner and Timothee Chalamet might be dating. If your brain just did a "record scratch" noise, then same, because that is one celeb couple I did NOT have on my 2023 bingo card. People in the IG post comments are shook and it even made its way to Twitter where people are turning their surprise into content. I mean, it definitely sounds like an odd couple but we'll just have to see if the rumors are true...or just a PR stunt.
Not to sound like a broken record, but the Barbie movie needs to come out now. All we've gotten so far is a teaser and some glamour shots, and yet the internet can't stop making content about it. Like the latest meme, taken from the iconic tagline: "She's everything. He's just Ken." People have managed to apply the statement to a ton of circumstances, from Legally Blonde to broken-up celebs to — my personal favorite — the Billy Dunne Hater fan club. This thread sums it up pretty well, with a plethora of spot-on examples of IRL celebs and movie/show characters.
Apple recently hinted they might be releasing a new version of the Airpods case with an interactive screen, which had a lot of people online saying "hmm...sounds familiar." The potential tech drop is making a lot of people (*cough* me) feel old, considering this would basically be a reinvented iPod nano, AKA the hottest accessory of the mid-aughts. I guess it's true what they say: everything comes back in style eventually. Lowkey I would kind of be into this though? Am I the only one?
People in STEM, help me out here. A viral TikTok showed how, despite placing a piece of paper between them, an object still shows up in a mirror's reflection. How does it know it's there?! What is this sorcery?! People have even been recreating it with the same mystifying results. I know there's probably some scientific reason, but even Hank Green (resident internet science teacher) told us to figure it out ourselves. This explanation kiiiiind of makes sense, but I'm still not buying it.
