Let's talk business...

Business Events Bid Fund Program (BFP) has helped to secure A$187 million worth of business events for Australia. Since the launch of the program in July 2018, 60 event applications have been received and 14 events have been secured for Australia, of which seven events have been publicly announced.

The BFP has a strong return on investment. On average, every dollar invested by Tourism Australia and industry in securing events through the Program has generated A$19 for the Australian economy. For more information on the BFP and how you can apply visit here.

Going once….going twice…

Secure your spot on the Australia stand at USA’s largest meetings industry trade show, IMEX America. By joining us on the Australia stand you will have the opportunity to do business, network and develop your relationship with international buyers. In 2018 more than 70 business leads were generated at the show. IMEX America will be held from 10 – 12 September 2019 at the Sands Expo Convention Centre in Las Vegas.

We’re heading to Perth! Seller registrations for Dreamtime 2019 will open in May. Dreamtime is Tourism Australia’s signature business events showcase, that provides you with the opportunity to meet and do business with international business events planners. Dreamtime 2019 will be hosted in Perth from
1 – 3  December in partnership with Perth Convention Bureau. Program components with networking opportunities include a dedicated business events session, welcome event and Dreamtime Dinner.

Have you launched a new experience or product? Delivered a unique incentive program? By simply sharing your news with us your business could reach an international business events audience. As part of our marketing communications strategy we publish Australia Next, a magazine launched in New Zealand for incentive planners, with other key markets to follow. The magazine features a round-up of the latest and greatest business events products and experiences. We also work closely with international publications such as Smart Meetings, in which we recently secured a five-page article on Australia:
The Royal Treatment in Oz.

Out and about

Team Australia was out in force during AIME. Our in-market teams from China, USA, UK and NZ joined us on the Australia stand to hold meetings with international buyers and drive awareness around Australia’s business events offering. In addition to this, the team held meetings with industry and experienced new product in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane.
