If you're not signing up for small business credit cards you're missing out on a lot of miles. And with many issuers the cards don't report to your personal credit, don't count towards the "5/24" total Chase calculates when deciding whether to approve you for some of their cards.

If you do any consulting work on the side, or you sell items on eBay or craigslist it can be a good idea to set up a business card.

PayPal Shares How People are Committing Fraud – and What You Do That Looks Like Fraud

I was in Wilmington, Delaware at an industry conference speaking about credit card rewards. There were several interesting speakers and some of it is worth sharing beyond inside baseball card issuer audiences.

One of those things was a talk by Steve Lenderman, Fraud Operations Lead for Paypal, who talked about how people commit fraud against financial institutions. It matters even for people who aren't committing fraud because behaviors undertaken by bad actors look suspicious when they're legitimately undertaken by the rest of us.

China’s ‘Social Credit’ System Has Banned People From Taking 11 Million Flights

China's 'social credit system' monitors citizen behavior and punishes them with travel bans, bans from four and five star hotels, preventing them from sending children to expensive schools, and throttling internet speeds.

New data suggests that China has used this social credit system to block its citizens from taking 11.14 million airline flights and 4.25 million high speed train trips.

Is First Class Worth It on the Amtrak Acela Express?

The increment for first class wasn't much. The benefit of first class wasn't much. Early access to the train has some value for some people. Club access I suppose does too, and so does the included cocktail and food. But I don't value those enough to pay for it out of my own pocket for sure.
