Bali's Mount Agung | EXO Travel Update

EXO TRAVEL UPDATE ON BALI'S AGUNG VOLCANO

Dear valued partners,

We are happy to announce that the alert level for Mount Agung Volcano in East Bali has been lowered from Level IV to Level III.

The former evacuation zone of 12.5 km has been reduced to between 6 and 7.5 km to reflect the calming of volcanic activity. With the exception of six villages closest to the volcano's crater, villagers have been given clearance to return to their homes.

We will be progressively reintroducing overnight stays for bookings in Sidemen, Candidasa and Mangis and we will also be resuming day trip operations to Kintamani and Mt Batur this week. We are also expecting a decision regarding the re-opening of Mother Temple Pura Besakih soon and will provide you with an update once we have confirmation.

Bali will celebrate the day of Galungan this Tuesday 31st October to commemorate the triumph of Dharma over Adharma, or good against evil. Bamboo poles created by the men of the households and decorated with young coconut leaf decorations will line the streets all over Bali.

Like all Balinese, we are hoping for this day, second only to Nyepi New Year in significance, to be an auspicious one and bring back some soothing joy to all.
