| | | | | | TOURISM AUSTRALIA UPDATE | On Thursday Tourism Australia held its annual Destination Australia conference, and it was the biggest ever with over 800 industry and media attending in person and around 250 online. It was an incredible day of speakers as we looked ahead together to the challenges and opportunities of 2023. Content from speakers, and videos from the day will be shared over future editions of the Essentials newsletter and LinkedIn. You can watch a video recap here and check out images from the day here. We also took the opportunity on Friday to bring together Regional Tourism Organisations (RTOs) in a forum where representatives from over 48 RTOs and the eight State and Territory Organisations came together – to focus on how we can all align our work and activities in the year ahead. To top off the week, it was great to attend the 2022 Australian Tourism Awards on Friday night and share those wonderful moments of joy with the winners and finalists. Congratulations everyone! Today I am attending the Legacy Forum in Brisbane/Meeanjin to discuss the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games Legacy. The Forum will see a cross section of Australia’s community and business leaders, sports stars and school leaders come together to help shape the Brisbane 2032 Legacy Plan. For us at Tourism Australia, we are always keen to leverage major sporting events when the world eyes are focused on Australia, so we will ensure we make the most of this historic moment in time for Australia.
