| | Good reviews for a Spotlight on Australia | To keep Australia top of mind while travel is paused, the Business Events Australia team took North American planners on a virtual trip to Australia last week. The webinar combined an inventive pre-recorded storytelling piece, featuring a variety of Australian destinations and a charismatic Australian host, and a live broadcast from Taronga Zoo in Sydney. Feedback from attendees was positive, with all saying they found the experience worthwhile and that they would recommend the webinar to colleagues. There is a second instalment scheduled for October. | | | | Upcoming activity for industry | Australian industry active in New Zealand are encouraged to register for the New Zealand Market Briefing on 7 October to understand current conditions for business events there. Seller registrations for the North American Showcase (October) and the Greater China Showcase (November) have now closed, with good uptake for both events by Australian industry – 35 sellers have been accepted for the North American Showcase and 63 for the Greater China event. | | | | | |

| | In-person distribution activity continuing in China | Busines Events Australia's team in China continues to deliver a comprehensive program of in-person distribution activities to encourage customers in market to consider Australia for future incentive events, with two training sessions, two Business Events Australia owned Seminars and one round of sales calls taking place across two Chinese cities in October. | | | | October webinars for customers in South East Asia and India | In October, Business Events Australia (BEA) will also deliver four webinars for India and South East Asia to keep planners inspired for future incentive events in Australia, with several Australian convention bureaux joining. The BEA team is undertaking a strategic and proactive approach to engaging these markets in FY2021 to nurture an existing healthy appetite for Australian incentives. | | | | | |

| | Australia Next NZ and UK editions out now | The latest editions of Business Events Australia’s self-published incentive inspiration magazine Australia Next for New Zealand and the United Kingdom are now live. Focussing on keeping Australia feeling fresh as an incentive destination and building desire to bring events here once travel resumes, the magazine continues to generate positive feedback in target markets. | | | | Strong industry uptake for the Business Events Boost Program | With applications now closed for the domestic Business Events Boost Program, over 180 applications have been lodged with Business Events Australia (BEA) for industry-led marketing and distribution projects to help restart domestic events. Applicants will be notified of the outcome of their submission by the end of October 2020. The Program forms part of BEA’s broader strategy to encourage a restart to events in Australia when the time is right and help the Australian industry get back on its feet following the impact of the pandemic. | | | | | |
