As you'd expect, the Irish capital goes to town for St Patrick's, with a whole festival of music, dance, food and drink from March 16 to 19. Make sure you visit the Guinness Storehouse and restored docklands too.
A big event in this vibrant city, the St Patricks' Day Parade features dance schools, sports groups, brass bands and international guests. While you're there, visit the famous English Market and Jameson whiskey distillery.
The Big Apple hosts the world’s largest St Patrick's Day parade, with 150,000 participants and two million spectators on Fifth Avenue. With a huge Irish immigrant population, New York has marked the day since 1762.
Nearly a quarter of Boston residents claim Irish ancestry, so naturally St Patrick's Day is a big deal here. Up to one million people line the parade route to watch floats and marching bands from Ireland and the US.
The Windy City is so proud of its Irish heritage that it dyes the river green in honour of St Patrick. On March 11, 2023, bagpipers, Irish dancers and horses will take part in a parade, with lively street parties to follow.
