It shows that 71% of New Zealanders, up 8% from June 2022, intend on taking a domestic holiday in the next 12 months, and of those, almost half (44%) have already booked it. Find out more in the latest Domestic Travel View report. We continue to work hard to support industry recovery by encouraging Kiwis to do more on their summer holidays, to seek further and explore places around New Zealand more deeply. Likewise, it is positive to see international arrivals showing promising signs, with latest data showing New Zealand welcomed 151,000 international arrivals in September 2022, that's 58% of September 2019 arrival numbers. We’re also working on activity to shape visitation post the 22/23 summer season to support the sector rebuild. I’ll be sharing more on this in the coming months. This week we launched an invitation to international business event planners who seek more from their next event through the new 100% Pure New Zealand ‘If You Seek’ campaign platform. The activity showcases what Aotearoa New Zealand can offer the Business Events industry. Business events are an important part of our strategy to attract high-quality visitors to New Zealand and support industry recovery. In the 2022 financial year alone, Tourism New Zealand supported 72 bids for international business events with an estimated economic value of $106 million. We’ll continue to push hard to help create a strong pipeline of events for the next few years. Lastly, I’d like to encourage you to come along the last webinar that Tourism New Zealand will be hosting for 2022. I’ll be reporting back to industry on Tourism New Zealand’s activity and performance and talking about what recovery is looking like, along with our upcoming plans. There will also be time for questions, so I encourage you to come along as I would love to hear from you. I wish you all the very best for the Christmas break and holiday season and I’m looking forward to a strong summer as we welcome back international visitors once again. As always - if you have any questions, feedback, or want to get in touch with myself or one of the Tourism New Zealand team, please contact us. Ngā mihi,
