The Alert Level shift for most regions is a positive step in the right direction and towards the goal of getting the entire country back to Alert Level 1. New Zealanders who live in Alert Level 2 areas will see two main pieces of activity that encourages safe travel. To support ski regions we’ll be promoting mid-week travel to ski and snowboarding audiences. We’ll also restart our families campaign to encourage travel as the school holidays get nearer. It’s important to note that our activity will be designed to reach people in regions where inter-regional travel is permitted and also comply current restrictions, such as distancing. Planning is also underway for a strong summer campaign which is scheduled to launch when all of New Zealand is at Alert Level 2 or lower. You can leverage our activity by ensuring your business and product listings are up to date on newzealand.com, including any deals you might have listed. If you’re located in an Alert Level 2 region and able to safely operate, there are some changes to the requirements for businesses particularly around the use of face coverings, physical distancing and a cap on the number of people who can be present. Tourism Industry Aotearoa (TIA) has also developed operational guidance for tourism activities and accommodation at Alert Level 2. For Qualmark members, complete the COVID Clean Approved self-assessment to help demonstrate that the health and safety procedures you follow are best practice. If you’re not a member, Qualmark membership remains free and the team are able to answer any questions you have to help guide you through the process. Lastly, if you need assistance, please make sure you look at the support that is available. I’m sure many of you will find it reassuring that wage subsidy is still available while any region remains at Alert Level 3 or 4, and more information on the support that’s available is listed on tourismnewzealand.com. As always - if you have any questions, feedback, or want to get in touch, please contact us. Ngā mihi,
