The inspirational magazine produced with incentive planners in mind, forms part of Business Events Australia’s content marketing strategy and is promoted in key international markets via trade media partners, including on the homepage of C&IT, Meetings Today, Mix Meetings and Meeting Newz, along with being directly emailed to trade partner databases. We are always looking for new and noteworthy items to feature in the magazine, so be sure to get in touch with your story ideas. | | | | | | | | Australia continues to secure business | Despite the ongoing challenges of the global pandemic, Australia’s business events industry has continued to convert future business for Australia. Since the global COVID-19 pandemic started in January 2020, the Business Events Bid Fund Program has supported 26 new event wins worth approximately A$137 million, highlighting that Australia remains a highly desirable business events destination. This sentiment is supported by the Business Events Consumer Demand Project, which indicated 8 in 10 association decision-makers rate Australia as an appealing destination with excellent business events facilities, clean cities, good infrastructure, and an appealing climate. Recent Business Events Bid Fund Program wins include the 49th International Conference on Infrared, Millimeter and Terahertz Waves 2023 (IRMMW-THz 2024) and the International Society for the Performing Arts (ISPA) Congress in 2024, both of which will be held in Perth. In addition, Darwin will host the 2023 World Conference on Ecological Restoration. | | | | | | | | | | USA generates business opportunities for Australia | With face-to-face trade events resuming across the USA, Tourism Australia’s Business Events Manager for the Americas recently attended four events to meet and do business with more than 90 business events planners from the incentive, corporate meetings and association sectors. As a result of attending the four events, 15 business leads were generated for Australia with planners indicating interest in Australia for late 2022 and beyond. Events included Successful Meetings University (SMU) in New York City, Connect 2021 in Florida, Society for Incentive Travel Excellence (SITE) Classic in San Diego and the SITE Texas Roadshow in Austin, Dallas and Houston. | | | | | | | | | | | |
