| | | | | TOURISM AUSTRALIA UPDATE | As another week passes, we face more developments and uncertainty as some parts of the country and the world move forward, and now some move back in terms of restrictions. Therefore, it has never been never more important to share information, and also examples of best practice on how to plan to get going again. In addition to these tips, Tourism Australia is continuing to ramp up our domestic activity, with the establishment of the Business Events Boost Program, focused on supporting domestic business events. This also follows the establishment of a domestic Aussie Specialist Program module. There will be more news in the domestic space to come in following weeks. We will be joined by the Chief Executive Officer of Sydney Airport, Geoff Culbert, sharing insights on how Sydney Airport has dealt with coronavirus (COVID-19) and what their plans are for the future. Tourism Australia wishes Jenny all the best for her future endeavours and thanks her for her twelve years of dedicated service. | | | | Business Events Boost Program launches to aid domestic recovery | Applications for the Business Events Boost Program, a new domestic partnership initiative to support industry-led business events marketing and distribution projects, will open 1 July 2020. The new program aims to support the Australian business events industry in the wake of the COVID-19 crisis by providing the opportunity to leverage funding, as well as Tourism Australia’s expertise to deliver marketing and distribution projects which help drive demand for domestic business events. There will also be a Business Events Boost Program Information Webinar taking place on Tuesday 30 June 2020 at 2.00pm AEST. | | | | | | | | | | | Domestic Passenger Journey Protocol | The Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Communications has developed the Domestic Passenger Journey Protocol to provide guidance for industry and confidence to the public as domestic air travel starts to increase. The Protocol was developed in consultation with Airlines for Australia and New Zealand and the Australian Airports Association. The Protocol is informed by health advice from the Australian Health Protection Principal Committee, as well as guidance from international aviation authorities such as the International Air Transport Association. Find out more here. | | | | ATEC COVID Ready Program | It's not too late to take part in the Australian Tourism Export Council’s (ATEC) tourism specific COVID Ready program which has been developed by industry for industry. COVID Ready is available to ATEC members and non-members and is designed to equip tourism businesses to operate with confidence in a COVID-19 world. The program is also based on the Federal Government’s National COVID Compliance Commission COVIDSafe guidelines. Key industry leaders in each sector have worked to develop industry specific training to provide a ‘ready-made’ COVID Ready Checklist for the Touring and Transport, Accommodation, Attractions and Food & Wine sectors.
