Go Beyond The Top Sights: Cool Things To Do Near Copenhagen

Great things to do near Copenhagen

Take a short trip outside of Copenhagen
The fact that Denmark is so small in comparison to our Nordic neighbors is actually quite nice for anyone visiting our little kingdom. Many fantastic things to do are within easy reach from just about anywhere you might be. And if you find yourself in Copenhagen, there are quite a few exciting attractions just outside the city that really shouldn't be missed. One of the most popular half-day trips is the short train ride up to the modern art museum, Louisiana. Then there's the iconic Kronborg Castle of Hamlet fame. And let's not forget the M/S Maritime Museum, which is worth the visit for the architecture alone. But we're really just scratching the surface, because in a country this small, even a trip to Aarhus from Copenhagen isn't out of the question!

Odense gets a street food market
Odense got its first street food market, Storms Pakhus, this month. Not only does this converted old warehouse look very cool and like a properly hygge space, but the 24 food vendors are offering up some very tasty looking grub.

Vesterbro one of 10 coolest neighborhoods in the world
Lonely Planet recently included the perennially trendy Vesterbro neighborhood of Copenhagen in their "10 Coolest Neighborhoods" article. With all the eating, drinking, shopping, and people-watching that can be done in Vesterbro, you could spend a whole day there.

The world through the eyes of the Little Mermaid
You know her. And you've probably even seen her. But imagine all that she's seen since she was given to Denmark by Carlsberg in 1913!
