We would like to keep you updated on the situation in Bali regarding Mount Agung.
The level of alert remains at the highest level (4 out of 4), with experts expecting an eruption but unable to predict when exactly it will happen.
We have received many questions about the handling of possible cancellations or the postponement of travel plans over the coming days and weeks. Currently, and as long as there is no eruption, most hotels are charging cancellation fees if they are outside the restricted areas.
Bali's Ngurah Rai Airport remains open, and contingency plans have been set up by authorities in case the airport closes down due to ash emissions from Agung. The closest airports outside of Bali are in Lombok and Surabaya. Transfers to these airports would be arranged by land and ferry, and all speedboat and transfer services continue to operate between Bali and Gili/Lombok as normal.
