| | Well what a week that was, TRENZ really does live up to its billing. It's a great event that showcases the best and brightest New Zealand tourism has to offer. Once again I was totally blown away by the energy and insights of all of you in the industry. It was an extremely busy event. The Tourism Minister Paula Bennett announced a new $102m Tourism Infrastructure Fund and a further $78m for the Department of Conservation to upgrade tourist facilities. I'm sure that will be welcomed by all of you. I was pleased to announce with Christopher Luxon that Tourism New Zealand and Air New Zealand have renewed their successful Memorandum of Understanding for the fifth year in a row. We have now jointly invested $100m in promoting this country. It's been a great partnership for New Zealand. I'm pleased at the response to my first industry presentations and our four-year strategy. It shows we are on the mark and there is industry demand for the market and visitor insights that Tourism New Zealand can bring. | | TRENZ was a great opportunity to get out and meet so many of you. I'm about to kick off a series of roadshows to talk in more detail about our four year strategy and hear more from you about the future of our industry. More information about where and when these will take place is below. I hope to see you there. | Stephen England-Hall Chief Executive, Tourism New Zealand | | | | | | | |
