The best of the internet, right here, right now
Did anyone else have the looongest four-day week possible? Maybe it feels so long because *so* much happened this week. There was some juicy Hollywood drama, a literal world-changing death, and that's just the tip of the iceberg. In case you need some refreshing, here's what all went down. Enjoy! ✨ |

RIP The Queen, Hello The Memes Unless you're truly unplugged (in which case, good for you but how are you reading this email?!), you heard the news of Queen Elizabeth II's passing yesterday. Or, if you didn't actually see the news, you definitely saw the internet explode about it into complete chaos. Some people needed to take time off work (to keep up with the tweets, of course), while others coped in more...humorous ways. Some recommended practicing self-care and others suggested pouring one out for her this weekend. Perhaps the most perplexing internet hot take, was that the Queen was being reincarnated as YouTube celeb Trisha Paytas' newborn baby. C'mon, let's be real people! |

Generation War II Gen Z and Millennials have been engaged in internet warfare since, well, Gen Z learned to use the internet (basically since they could walk). Lately, the battle has moved to TikTok, where this creator's (now deleted) videos roasting Millennials' social media habits went viral. A lot of people complained that Millennials don't *actually* act that way (thanks for the BuzzFeed shoutout, btw). And some aired out more serious complaints about the nature of the videos. This definitely isn't the first — or last — time Millennials will get roasted though, so I guess let the war rage on. |

Turns Out It *Is* Easy Being Green If you have TikTok, that is. The new She-Hulk show has been gaining a niche fandom, but people online seem more interested in *becoming* her thanks to an effect made by a user who specializes in creating character-inspired filters. Over 100,000 people have used and loved it for a variety of reasons: surprisingly loving themselves with green skin (a new trend?), being a musical theater nerd, and the fact that it turns everything green. |
