| | | | | TOURISM AUSTRALIA UPDATE | As the situation with Omicron unfolds, it is reassuring for our industry to see restrictions remaining relatively stable, and even an announcement earlier this week that Queensland will be bringing forward their border opening to next Monday, 13 December. National Cabinet paused last week before making any big announcements, which hopefully also means a more nationally consistent approach as we reopen our international borders. Yesterday, Tourism Australia attended the CAPA 2021 Aviation Summit in Sydney. The hybrid event brought thought-leaders in the aviation and travel industry together to share insights and perspectives on the road to recovery, not only for the Australia Pacific region but also the world. Five weeks into the reopening of the international border, we discussed the early experience of Australia’s re-entry in the global travel market and what the next six-to-twelve months bring in terms of recovery for our industry. The 42nd Australian Tourism Exchange (ATE) was announced by Australia's Minister for Trade, Tourism and Investment Dan Tehan earlier today to take place in Sydney from 15 to 18 of May next year. ATE Live is expected to attract around 1,700 delegates and contribute millions to the local economy. ATE Online will follow from 24 to 26 May to connect those unable to travel to Australia. Further information can be found below. This Friday Tourism Australia will hold the final industry webinar for the year, and on Monday 13 December a face-to-face Industry Briefing will take place in Sydney.
