Next phase of Holiday Here This Year campaign

Tourism Australia launched the latest iteration of its Holiday Here This Year campaign at the Destination Australia Conference yesterday.

This next iteration of the Holiday Here This Year campaign showcases some of the incredible experiences on offer across Australia’s cities, and is fronted by Hamish Blake and Zoe Foster-Blake.

Australia’s cities are struggling from a lack of demand due to COVID-19. Instead of city breaks, many Australians are choosing regional locations within driving distance of cities. Tourism Australia’s consumer research shows that there a number of barriers to booking a city break, including safety, crowded environments, flexibility and businesses being closed or not offering their full experience due to COVID-19. This campaign seeks to overcome these barriers by instilling people with the confidence to travel safely to our cities. The campaign includes a TVC, outdoor and print ads, editorial media coverage, Instagram story city guides, 10 new city videos featuring industry and over 100 new and uplifted articles on our city experiences on Australia.com.

The overarching Holiday Here This Year campaign will continue to roll out in several bursts of activity over the coming months, with different areas of focus as we move through the pandemic and react to industry’s changing needs.
