Business Events Australia Industry Update

It has been an intense and challenging start to 2020. As you will have seen, the primary focus of communications from Tourism Australia has been dealing with the immediate crises impacting the visitor economy, sharing status updates and the latest safety, public health and travel advice. As we look to recover and rebuild, it’s important that we continue to market Australia as a safe and welcoming destination for business events.

We want to update you on some of the activity Business Events Australia is doing to keep Australia front of mind and to continue to drive business to industry around Australia that are doing it tough at the moment.

As part of this activity, Business Events Australia will be at AIME next week ensuring Australia remains a preferred a business events destination for international attendees. At the show you’ll also see the recently launched Event Here This Year campaign, as part of the National Bushfire Recovery Fund, encouraging domestic event decision-makers to choose Australia for their events this year, rather than going abroad.

We’ll be providing more frequent updates over the next few months and if you have questions about anything else, please contact the Business Events Australia team for answers.
