Attempting to stave off potential backlash resulting from U.S. polices that might seem unfriendly to international visitors, destinations from California to Virginia are rolling out their welcome mats.

Fun without sun drives travelers to path of total eclipse

The town of Hopkinsville, Ky., which has been reported to be one of the best places to view the eclipse on Aug. 21, has a population of around 32,000 and is expecting at least 50,000 visitors to descend there to view the phenomenon.

Marriott: Cuba expansion plans in doubt with Trump's changes
