Register for Tourism Australia’s Industry Webinar
Tourism Australia’s August Industry Webinar will take place on Friday 30 August at 11am AEST. This month along with our regular update from Tourism Australia’s Managing Director Phillipa Harrison, Kevin Lu, Head of Oceania, Trip.com will join the session. Additionally, Danial Rochford, CEO Tourism Central Australia (TCA) will talk about Alice Springs and Central Australia. Over his career Danial has walked an extraordinarily diverse and successful path as a change manager in tourism, economic and community development and aviation sectors. Tourism Australia Americas Attends Virtuoso Travel Week in Las Vegas

Tourism Australia had a significant presence at the 36th annual Virtuoso Travel Week, held last week in Las Vegas. During the opening session, Tourism Australia’s Managing Director, Phillipa Harrison, presented to over 4,700 travel professionals, encouraging listeners to look differently at Australia’s luxury proposition from its elevated culinary experiences to its strong sense of place, immersive cultural experiences offered by Indigenous operators, and the surprising accessibility of Australia. Throughout the week, the team engaged in a variety of activities, including a ‘Come and Say G’day’ training workshop, specialised adventure and culinary sessions, a VIP cocktail reception, and over 60 one-on-one appointments. Additionally, the team, participated in a media track, connecting with 25 leading journalists.

Industry are invited to register for the upcoming Industry Briefing event nearest to them. The free of charge briefings will include an update from Tourism Australia, followed by a networking event on the following dates:

23 October – Perth / Boorloo
1 November – Melbourne / Narrm
6 November – Sydney / Warrane
13 November – Adelaide / Tarntanya

ITB Berlin 2025 applications now open

Applications are now open to attend ITB Berlin 2025 with Tourism Australia. The ‘world's leading travel trade show' will be held in Berlin, Germany from 4 to 6 March 2025. Tourism Australia will have a dedicated stand for Australian industry and invites applications from State and Territory Tourism Organisations (STOs), Inbound Tour Operators (ITOs) and high-demand product. Entries Open for the 36th Banksia National Sustainability Awards

The 36th Banksia National Sustainability Awards are now open for entry. Tourism Australia is proud to sponsor the Tourism and Destinations Award again this year. These awards celebrate individuals, organisations, and initiatives making a significant impact on Australia's sustainability landscape. The 2024 theme is optimism, focusing on positive change and hope for a sustainable future. Entries are open now, with an entry information session on 9 October and the deadline for submissions on 6 December 2024. Industry are encouraged to nominate a fellow colleague or business or apply for your business today to have efforts in sustainability be recognised.

Latinos DownUnder Roadshow 2025 seller applications now open
 
Latinos DownUnder Roadshow will be returning to South America from 8 to 14 June 2025, visiting Argentina (Buenos Aires), Brazil (Sao Paulo) and Santiago de Chile. A series of trade workshops will drive destination education, establish and strengthen partner relationships and support increased visitation to Australia. The next global culinary talent to take over the arkhé kitchen
Adelaide / Tarntanya’s first open-flame restaurant, arkhé, has announced the next four events in its year-long series of world class chef collaborations in partnership with Laphroaig. The series titled arkhé & friends, which launched in April 2024 and features 12 chefs over 12 months, is bringing acclaimed culinary talent from around the globe to Adelaide. The next four collaborations events will be Dan Hong (Mr. Wong, Sydney / Warrane) on 19 September, James Lowe (Lyle’s, London) on 10 October, Will Goldfarb (Room4Dessert, Bali) on 21 November and Ben Williamson (Agnes, Brisbane / Narrm) on 5 December. Tickets are on sale now and include an unforgettable set menu, with a Laphroaig cocktail on arrival and wine pairings.
Liquid & Larder partners with The EVE Hotel
Liquid and Larder, the trailblazing hospitality group has been appointed as the official food and beverage partner for The EVE Hotel Sydney - the city’s most anticipated new-build boutique hotel opening of the year. A new era for Cairns / Gimuy’s Sunshine Tower Hotel
Following its acquisition in 2021 by the award-winning Alivio Group, Sunshine Tower Hotel in Cairns / Gimuy has completed the first stage of a multi-million-dollar upgrade. The Alivio Group and Sunshine Tower Hotel management team has unveiled the hotel’s thoughtfully reimagined surroundings, elevating its relaxation and dining experience. Central to the hotel’s enhanced guest amenities are its dining and resort facilities, which feature a luxe new restaurant in a confident coastal palette of timber and texture that fits within a chic ‘Paradiso’ theme. Inspiring Journeys Unveils New Itineraries for 2025/2026 Season
Inspiring Journeys, sister brand of AAT Kings Group and one renowned for offering immersive, small-group premium travel experiences, has announced its new 2025/2026 season itineraries, featuring three brand-new tours that promise to uncover the best-kept secrets of Australia.
