We pushed the campaign out via a number of trade events and media opportunities, reaching millions of Australians considering New Zealand for their next holiday. New Zealand is the number one outbound destination for Australians and as global tourism slows down it’s an incredibly important market for us to focus on. Despite a softening in arrivals over the past two years, the Australian market delivered a 4% growth in holiday arrivals in the year ending June 2019. We will be working extremely hard in this market and our other core markets, the USA and China to try and stabilise softening arrivals and support the industry. The launch of the 100% Pure New Zealand Welcome campaign provides us with a fantastic opportunity to stand out on the world stage during this time. At the moment this stage is particularly crowded with destinations competing for travellers and our campaign has a crucial role to play in ensuring New Zealand remains top of mind. I will be talking more about our work to address softening arrivals today at the Tourism Export Council Conference and via a webinar in early September – register here to find out more and ask any questions.
