| | | DIVIDEND| Share of the profits revealed Members unanimously agreed that all points earned in the last financial year would be worth £5 per 1,000. These have now been converted.
If you earned over 1,000 points within the qualifying period, these have now been converted into dividend and can be spent in any of our stores. All left over points will roll over. | |
FUNDRAISING | The total you raised It was announced by our President, Pauline Dodd, that our customers, members and colleagues have raised between them over £61,000 in the year for the Alzheimer's Society!
This was done through skydives, cake sales, abseils, tower climbs, sponsored hair cuts, donations at the till, and so much more. To all who helped raise this outstanding sum, thank you. | | | |
| | | BUSINESS| Financial Report CEO, Barry Wood, covered the Society's financial report, and discussed what was in store for the rest of 2019.
Despite painting a bleak picture of the UK's retail environment, the Society reported 'like for like' increases in gross takings of 3.7%. Also covered were successes coming from store refits, the new funeral strategy, and the development of a travel website. | |
COMMUNITY | Events and Activities Details of our recent donations, local support, and member events were covered by our Head of Membership & Marketing, Kevin Bennett.
From litter-picks to dementia-awareness training, collaborations with local councils, schools, the NHS, and other local businesses, members in attendance were reminded why Chelmsford Star Co-op has been independently voted as 'Best in the UK for Community Involvement'. | | | |
| | | ELECTIONS| New representatives Our Society Secretary, Ellen Tredwin, announced the successful candidates in this year's member elections.

CHARITY | Our next charity partner Following a colleague vote, our new charity partner for the year was announced as the Essex & Herts Air Ambulance. We look forward to working with them!
